Bozate and the Agotes
Today around 120 people live in Bozate and it is known for its beauty and interesting history.
Bozate was the Agotes' district. This minority was marginalised for centuries, even during the 20th Century.
The Agotes were highly skilled in different types of crafts and, in fact, work done by Agote carpenters, stone masons, cabinet makers and brick layers can sill be seen around Bozate.
Arizkun
Arizkun is in the Baztan Valley, a few minutes from Elizondo. Arizkun is a magnificent example of a typical Baztan village. The village is divided into six districts, the most important of of which is Bozate. Like the other villages in the valley, Arizkun is surrounded by green countryside.
